Eldorado Park’s Michael Langevel Appointed Hewlett Packard Country Director for United Arab Emirates

To qualify for the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon, a participant would have to run a 42km qualifying marathon and the actual race is 56km of running up and down a mountain. This tells us of the kind of mindset that Eldorado Park’s Michael Langeveld has. Having completed the race, he does not expect to win against the professional runners but he loves the challenge and he completes what he sets out to do. In all other aspects of his life, however, he does tend to win a lot.

In June of 2026, Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced that it had appointed Michael as the Country Director of its operations in the United Arab Emirates. His job will be to make sure that the computing giant grows and strengthens its position in the strategically important Emirates.

Michael’s new role is as a result of having built a strong reputation in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Michael started at Hewlett as the Chief Technology Officer for South Africa before being promoted to the Head of Technology and Business Development for the Emirates and Africa. Of course, his journey in IT did not start at the top.

Starting in 2006, Michael became a Microsoft Account Manager for Faritec and then a Microsoft & End User Computing Services Manager for Dell. He then moved directly to Microsoft South Africa as a Director for Solution Sales and then to Sales Lead for Cloud and DataCentre before finally taking the role of Public Safety & National Security Lead. He then moved over to IBM as the Hybrid Cloud Leader after which he joined Huawei as the Vice President for Cloud Business in Africa.

It was in 2019 that Michael joined Hewlett and given his reputation, his new role is just another step in his race towards the top.
