She has a doctorate in medical biochemistry, and she is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of SOUTH AFRICA MAKES – an award-winning and internationally recognised medical device digital manufacturing company. Last year, she was selected to become a Harvard South Africa Fellow to pursue a Master of Public Health degree and this year, she proudly announced that she completed and graduated with her Harvard Masters degree.
Now, to become a Harvard Fellow, you should have already become an accomplished individual, and Cherise has too many accomplishments to list on one page. In addition to her degrees Biochemistry degrees from the University of Kwazulu Natal, she received her Masters, PhD and Social Entrepreneurship certificate from the University of Cape Town.
It was in 2018, after completing her PhD, that she co-founded and helped lead, SOUTH AFRICA MAKES, a company that is considered to be one of the best in 3d digital printing of medical equipment. Cherise herself is considered to be one of the most respected minds in this industry, having been invited to give at G20 Summit, BRICS Summit and even Ted Talks.
Her work has seen become a Standard Bank ‘Top 12 Influential Young Women to Watch Out For in South Africa’, one of the 2019 ‘Inspiring Fifty South Africa’, and a 2019 ‘Mail & Guardian 200 Young South African’.
