When Bradley Nitsckie got his first job, it wasn’t in retail or in an office. He was a Fitter for Transnet, a guy that knew how to work with his hands, repairing and maintaining trains. He eventually worked his way to supply chain and management roles, and nine years later, he decided that his experience needed a degree. He applied to study Business at the University of the Western Cape, graduating Cum Laude, setting himself on a path that would see him reach the upper echelons of the corporate world.
On Wednesday it was announced that Bradley would be promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer at the Woolworths Holding Company. According to the Woolworths website, he is “responsible for driving the development of the supply chain and online fulfilment networks”.
Previously, Bradley had been the Chief Supply Chain Officer and also currently holds the role of Chairman of the Woolworths Group Retirement Fund. He had been with Woolworths for 15 years, starting as a Supply Chain Business Partner, working his way to Head of Supply Chain followed by Head of Supply Chain and Logistics. Prior to joining Woolworths, he had been an Executive Depot Manager at South African Breweries.
In addition to his Business Degree, he has a Masters from the University of Cape Town (which he graduated with distinction), a Supply Chain Management Certificate from Penn State University in the US and completed an International Leadership Development Programme at the University of Pretoria.
