Keegan Alicks Appointed Chief Marketing Officer for McDonalds South Africa

After more than 20 years of diligently working his way through the ranks, Keegan Alicks has reached another career milestone.

In April of 2026, it was announced that Keegan would be taking over as the Chief Marketing Officer of McDonalds South Africa.

He will be in charge of promoting  one of the most recognisable brands in South Africa, a brand that locally generates an estimated R5 billion in revenue, employs more than 17000 people and has a network of 400 stores.

Prior to taking up this new role, he was the National Advertising and Promotions Executive for the SPAR Group and before that, he was a Marketing Director for Unilever.

It was at Unilever, over a span of 20 years, that he really built his reputation for having a formidable marketing mind.

He started out as a Demand Planner and worked his way to Shopper Marketing Manager, Senior Brand Manager for the Vaseline brand, Marketing Manager for the hand and body range of products, Marketing Manager for Deodorants and finally, Marketing Director.
