Competing at the South African, Sub-Youth National Athletics Championships, not only did he win his under 11; 80m sprint race but Dylan Calvert became the fastest young South African to do so.
The Kraaifontein born and bred Dylan smashed an 18 year old record when he ran a time of 9.84 seconds.
Described as dedicated, humble and fiercely competitive, Dylan has been on a hot streak since last year after winning being crowned the 2024 80m and 100m champion.
Not only that, but in 2024, he set the Western Cape record for the under 10, 80m meter sprint with a time of 10,73.
Dylan admits that when he started with athletics, he cried a lot but he believes it made him strong and now he is just grateful for all the opportunities he received.
