In 2022, Eldrid Jordaan decided to leave the company he co founded. The company had built a chat app called, GovChat, which connected ordinary South Africans with government services. It grew rapidly to 13 million users with 600 million messages being sent every year. That is not, however, the R4 billion company.
After stepping down from Govchat, he turned his attention to co-founding and becoming the CEO of a new company, called, Suppple. The company focuses on delivering technologies such as identity verification to government, academic, and public entities.
In 2024, Eldrid decided to list his company on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange where the company was valued at 200 million euros or R4 billion. One of Eldrid’s goals is to have Suppple become the largest tech company in Africa, and with operations right across Africa, it seems that he has already accomplished what he set out to do.
